Merit Allocation Scheme
General Description General description of the Merit Allocation Scheme (MAS), including information on the types of projects that will be supported.
Criteria Criteria used by the Merit Allocation Committee to evaluate MAS computational project proposals.
Call for Applications The major call for applications to the MAS is made in October for allocations for 12 months to start in the following January. An additional call is made in April for any NEW projects to start in July with allocations limited to 6 months to bring them into line with the existing projects.

However, applications may be submitted at any time when there are reasons for not being able to submit at these rounds. In this case, please note that at certain times the on-line form will allow you to apply for time only in future quarters and not for resources in the current quarter. If your project is ready to use a substantial amount of time in the current quarter (such that a start-up grant is not appropriate), please complete the form on-line and then also email to us the details of your needs in the current quarter.

The call for applications document includes information on the resources available.

Note: The MAS is able to arrange access to resources on some Partner systems for those projects which may be best served by access to those systems.
