| Emergency messages: |
Wednesday May 16 11:45am: Data Storage Cloud The storage cloud is having problems. Currently, there is no access to dcc:/projects or /massdata (or the mdss command). It is hoped that /massdata and the mdss command will be available again shortly. dcc:/projects will probably take longer. UPDATE May 17 11.45 am: /massdata is available now and mdss jobs on vu are running. UPDATE May 17 2.20pm: /projects is still not available. The (low level) array controllers are still being actively repaired/replaced by SGI. Tomorrow morning is the earliest possible return to service. |
| Scheduled downtime |
Thursday May 17 5pm to 11pm. VAYU downtime There will be a ~6 hour scheduled VAYU downtime to replace some storage components and to update the filesystem version on all servers. All jobs will be suspended and unaffected for the duration. Logins to VAYU will fail during the downtime. |

| Petascale HPC System Tender 18th July 2011 |
The ANU has advertised an invitation to pre-register interest in responding to the upcoming NCI Petascale HPC System Tender. |
| Vayu build complete. 6 April 2010 |
The final two racks of the Sun/Oracle Vayu system have been put into production today. This brings vayu to its full complement of over 11900 cpus or even 140 TFlops peak computational capacity. |
| Vayu second stage in production. 11-12 March 2010 |
The second stage of the Sun/Oracle Vayu system is being merged and will be in production from Friday. The new Vayu will be a ~7x increase in capacity over the first stage. |

The first stage of the new Sun Constellation cluster, vayu, was doubled in capacity today. See the following email to users for further details on the system status. |
| Interim Sun System Accepted 18 Sept 2009 |
The first stage of the new Sun Constellation cluster, vayu, has passed acceptance and is now in production. |
| Sun Hardware Arrives 17 July 2009 |
The crates containing the first stage of the
new Sun hardware have arrived. The system will be installed starting 22 July 2009.
It will take a few weeks for installation of the Sun hardware and
the ANU software before acceptance testing commences. We expect the system
to be available to users in the second half on September. For more information see this email. |

| National Computational Merit Allocation Scheme | The call for applications to the NCMAS for Jan 2012 - Dec 2012 resources has been issued. The deadline for applications is extended to 9am 11 November 2011.. The email of the call sent out is available here. |
| Call for 2010 Annual Reports | Submission of 2010 Annual Reports is due by 10 Oct 2011.
Receipt of your report as soon as possible and adherence to the prescribed format will be greatly appreciated. If you this deadline is not possible or will cause you undue stress, please contact to arrange an alternative date. For projects applying to renew under the NCMAS it is essential that the 2010 annual report is completed before your time application form is submitted. |
