Super-Projects to Help Manage Large Resource Allocations
| Background | To assist lead chief investigators (CIs) in managing projects with
large resource allocations, particularly where large research teams
are involved, the National Facility provides for "super-projects".
Super-projects group together a number of individual projects and in doing so enables more effective management of the resources amongst them. Using a super-project a lead Chief Invesitgator may partition the resources available to particular projects, and redistribute resources amongst projects to ensure their efficient and effective use throughout each quarter. |
| What to Do | To take advantage of this facility Chief Invesitgators should complete
a separate application for each individual project.
|
| Chief Investigators | The Lead Chief Investigator of the nominated "super-project" of the project
group will effectively be the Lead Chief Investigator of the project group.
This person can manage only one super-project, and cannot have any other
projects separate to the super-project group.
The Lead Chief Investigators of the individual projects within the group may or may not be the Lead Chief Investigator of the project group. They must be a staff member of an Australian Higher Education Institution or a CSIRO Researcher. Postgraduate students cannot be Lead Chief Investigators of sub-projects. |
